What to Expect?
What is Coaching?
Coaching helps people get closer faster to the future that they want, whether this is finding a fulfilling career, becoming more confident or effective at work, or becoming more powerful as a leader.
Coaching is about seeing beyond what we already know and what we believe we are capable of. It is about exploring the unknown, which drives our feelings, behaviors, and decisions in life. By uncovering this unknown, we can reset the direction to become who we aim to be.
Coaching is distinct from counselling, psychotherapy, or psychiatry. Under specific conditions, it can co-exist with other therapies that a client may be involved with.
How Does Coaching Work?
Coaching is a creative and inspiring partnership between a client and their coach, in which the coach will:
Encourage the client’s self-discovery and growth. He/she will guide you and support you along the journey, without giving you advice or telling you what to do. We believe clients are the experts of their own lives. Very often, the best answers lie within each of us, even if we are not able to identify them yet.
Ask powerful and thought-provoking questions that evoke awareness, insight, commitment, or action to help you move forward. It might be in the form of open-ended questions, but not always. Your coach might sometimes summarize, paraphrase, or offer simple observations.
Listen deeply to what is being said and unsaid to best understand the context in which the client is living and thinking. It is about listening to the words, but also the tone and the rhythm of the voice, watching the body language and face expressions, and noticing the shifts of energy during the conversation.
Help to crystallize learning and design the most adequate actions to build a sustainable coaching plan based on what fits best with the client’s goals, personality, and vision.
Foster client’s accountability to increase their responsibility and productivity.
